This Privacy Policy explains how Lumnia processes information when you interact with the Lumnia Discord application, its websites, and related services that reference this Policy.
Lumnia is designed around a focused moderation workflow. We aim to process only the information reasonably necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve that functionality.
Overview
Lumnia provides Discord communities with tools for creating durable warning records, reviewing moderation case history, and delivering moderation logs.
The information Lumnia processes depends on the feature being used. Lumnia does not need every category of information described in this Policy for every interaction.
Information We Process
Depending on the action or feature involved, Lumnia may process and store the following categories of information.
What We Don't Intentionally Collect
Lumnia is not designed to create copies of ordinary Discord user profiles or maintain a general archive of server conversations.
Lumnia does not require Discord's privileged Message Content intent for its current moderation functionality and is not designed to read or archive the contents of ordinary server conversations.
We do not intentionally ask users to provide passwords, authentication tokens, payment-card details, government identification numbers, or similarly sensitive credentials through moderation reasons or other free-text fields.
How Information Is Used
Lumnia may process information described in this Policy to:
- create and maintain moderation warning records;
- retrieve moderation cases and member case history for authorized users;
- deliver moderation logs to configured Discord channels;
- track and retry eligible moderation-log deliveries;
- preserve server configuration and enforce retention behavior;
- detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to abuse, errors, or security issues;
- maintain and improve the reliability of the Service;
- comply with applicable legal obligations.
Moderation Records
Moderation records may contain information submitted by authorized moderators, including a warning reason and identifiers associated with the moderator and affected member.
Lumnia stores this information so authorized server moderators can maintain and review moderation case history.
Lumnia does not independently determine whether the statements entered by a moderator are true, fair, or appropriate. Responsibility for moderation decisions and submitted moderation reasons remains with the applicable Discord server and its authorized moderators.
Discord and Third-Party Services
Lumnia operates through Discord and receives information made available through Discord's services and APIs as necessary for Lumnia's functionality.
Your use of Discord is separately governed by Discord's own terms and privacy practices.
Lumnia may also rely on infrastructure providers necessary to host, secure, monitor, back up, or deliver the Service. Those providers may process limited information on Lumnia's behalf as necessary to provide their services.
Data Retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Lumnia's functionality, maintain moderation history, operate and secure the Service, satisfy applicable legal obligations, and apply the retention practices described in this Policy.
Different categories of information may have different retention periods.
Backup copies may follow a separate lifecycle from live application data. Information deleted from the active application database may remain temporarily in backups until those backups expire or are replaced according to the applicable backup retention process.
When Lumnia Is Removed From a Server
When Lumnia determines that it has been removed from a Discord server, the server's associated live application data enters a retention period rather than being deleted immediately.
The current retention period is 30 days from the applicable server removal boundary.
This delay helps protect against accidental removal, temporary service interruptions, and related lifecycle events.
If Lumnia is validly reinstalled before the applicable retention period expires, the current removal state may be cleared and the server's data may remain available.
After the retention period expires, eligible live application data associated with the removed server is scheduled for cleanup in accordance with Lumnia's retention process.
Security
Lumnia uses technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
These measures may include access controls, permission checks, restricted application credentials, database protections, logging safeguards, container isolation, backup procedures, and other operational security practices.
No system connected to the internet can guarantee absolute security. Accordingly, Lumnia cannot promise that unauthorized access, data loss, or other security incidents will never occur.
How Information May Be Shared
Lumnia does not need to sell personal information in order to provide its moderation functionality.
Information may be disclosed or made available in limited circumstances, including:
- to infrastructure and service providers acting on Lumnia's behalf;
- through Discord when Lumnia performs a requested moderation or logging function;
- when required to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental requests;
- when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse, enforce applicable terms, or protect the rights, safety, integrity, or security of Lumnia, its users, or others;
- in connection with a legitimate organizational restructuring, acquisition, or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law.
Privacy Requests and Controls
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights relating to personal information, such as requesting access, correction, deletion, or other information about processing.
Because much of Lumnia's information is associated with a particular Discord server and moderation record, requests may require enough information to identify the relevant Discord account, server, or case and to verify that the requester is authorized to make the request.
Some information may need to be retained where permitted or required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes.
Children
Lumnia is intended for use through Discord and is not designed as a service directed specifically at children.
Users must satisfy the requirements applicable to their use of Discord and any minimum-age requirements imposed by applicable law.
International Processing
Discord communities may operate internationally, and Lumnia's infrastructure or service providers may process information in countries other than the country where a user lives.
Where applicable law requires specific safeguards for international transfers of personal information, appropriate measures will be used as required.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated as Lumnia's functionality, infrastructure, data practices, or legal obligations change.
When this Policy is updated, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will be revised. Additional notice may be provided where appropriate.
15. Contact
Privacy questions or requests relating to Lumnia can be directed to the official Lumnia support channel or designated privacy contact.
